magellan
the magellan roadmate is easy to use. only complaint is that it needs a updated map.magellan charges you for a update map.

Love the RoadMate 2000
I purchased the Magellan RoadMate 2000, my first and only GPS system, at least 2 years ago and could not ask for a better product. We pull a trailer all around the country 5-6 months a year. As we travel so much I used to have multiple hard copy maps and LapTop map systems to lead us around the country. Within 3 months of getting the Magellan RoadMate 2000 I stored the hard copy maps and have not used them since. In another month I stopped using the LapTop systems (which are also GPS); it is now a backup for the just in case we get really lost; have not used it for over a year.

Now I just plug the address of our next destination into the Magellan RoadMate 2000 and off we go, no maps are ever opened. We've driven over 30,000 miles and only on one occasion did it let us down; it had an address 1 block east of where it actually was - this had us screwed up for a while. Our backup LapTop system didn't help us out in this case.

We don't use point of interests we just drive point A to point B.

I've gotten so lazy that I don't even pay attention when traveling around new areas as I know the RoadMate will always lead us back to our trailer no matter where we are in the US.

Every time we enter a new area I am amazed that the RoadMate does such a great job.

Good GPS but useless with no power
Last year I decided to but my wife a GPS for her car. This isn't my first GPS. I already have an automotive one in my car, multiple hand held units along with older units datting back to 1992. I also use one on a daily basis Geocaching.
About the GPS:
Pros: Touch screen and easy to use with clear instructions.
Cons: It's size is a little larger then most of todays units. The cradle isn't very solid. The battery in the unit went down hill from day 1. Only 6 months after installation and very little use the power connection inside the unit just died. The GPS was treated very well and it just died. It now sits all by itself on the shelf waiting for me to repair it or thrown into the electronics recycle pile. I would not purchase one of these units due to the power and battery issue.

as advertised
very good for the price, no frills does exactly what it is supposed to dom nice large screen and clear voice directions

Buy another
I've had the Magellan Roadmate 2000 for about 3 years. As far as working its not bad. It takes getting used to and sometimes it routes me ways I know are wrong. If your returning from a route you just had in the unit. It sometimes takes you in a completely different way home. The thing that galls me the most is I've waited for a map update for the last two years. Now that they have one they want 79.00 plus shipping to ship me a CD to update. I don't expect free updates forever, but give me one! I can buy a refurbished Magellan 2000 or a tom tom for the same money as the update.I will not buy another magellan product period.

In fact, it could have been a great GPS! And he has a “very good” opening an SD memory card. But I just called Magellan and they told me, “Oh, the European maps are not available for this model.” It’s ridiculous, in my opinion —- to make a product that will not accept “cards from other countries.” I mean, one day, in about 10 years, you can go to London. . . or Paris. . . . or Rome. . . turn around in a rented car, right? So, as you see, because —- Magellan does not tell the front —- discover yourself: “Oh, I have to buy another GPS to accept cards in Europe.” Phooey! Magellan should be in big letters on the box “does not work with maps of Europe.” But let the customer information for research. I would not buy it just for that reason! If you agree or disagree th Email: boland7214@aol.PS: If you want to make your GPS in Europe, visit Garmin GPS. In addition, the Garmin C530, for example, has a screen that is easier to read because the information is in large letters and always superior.PPS: To be fair, if you are sure you do not want to drive in the U.S. The 2000 is worthy of being analyzed, and it worked very well for me in my neighborhood. And he Another model for $ 100 more homologous (!) said they “will be able to work with maps of Europe at some point in the future! This model is the Magellan RoadMate 2200T. Rating: 1 / 5

I recvd this unit a week ago. I live in southwest Missouri between Springfield and Branson, MO. The device is easy to use, but the instructions sux! maps are updated! There is the street here, when they built more than three years are not even on the map that shows the heart while driving! Going down to Eureka Springs has decided to test it! Had I followed this GPS I would have ended in a field of culture, I turn on the road when there is not! I would not recommend this GPS AMI INFACT taking mine back to make it run like crap! I do not know what the people intended. . Magellan this is the basis in all respects. . BLUETOOT No, no mp3, but if you need to get from A to B quickly and easily, so gps.Magellan help navigate every day in the California Delta, thousands of roads are stored in Littles Recently the GPS, this unit of Magellan to San Francisco to New York, withound no problem at all. . Finally, it is cheap, simple and functional. . the rest. . well. . the rest can be expensive to buy a Garmin or TomTom. . . Magellan is enough for me. . Rating: 5 / 5

Firstly, we have a GPS that is integrated into Infinity I35 if very good. The RoadMate 2000 is far away. The screen is too small and does not give clear instructions when there is a mass of roads on the small screen. Outputs Some proposals are not clear on the screen, and could cause an accident is being trying to understand where he is said to descend. Told to go to places where almost no ridiculous when you try to move or leave the reality should fall. Will, in fact, the time has come, and it is in the position of the fastest route. I would say it is incredibly fast rerouting when you miss a turn, I spoke almost immediately. It took me over eight rounds in Mississippi to achieve anything when all you had to do was move forward one block and turn left to get there. He has done several times faster using, especially between states, and two parameters. I tried this in places where I knew that the quickest and easiest way to a place. I certainly do not buy this unit. Rating: 2 / 5

This is a warning to people who buy this product. The warranty does not cover defects físicos.La touch screen can be changed in this unit and it will cost you $ 150 to repair. Without the touch screen section is completely useless. The last thing I want to happen is when you’re on the road one morning to find that the touch screen broke and has no instructions to leave allí.Llamé support (in India) and that this guarantee applies only to software defects. I bought two months ago and told me that was not covered by physical defects garantía.Te suggest obtaining another product or a GPS receiver based on (the cheaper and more features) Rating: 1 / 5
