Great idea, poorly executed
At first, I was very pleased with this product. Then the major design flaw came out: it loses it's "stickiness" after a few weeks in the car. Thinking I got a defective product, I returned it and got a new one. Same story a few weeks later. I understand that all materials break down over time, that's how physics works, but this is unacceptable. Am I not supposed to keep a product designed for use in the car, in my hot car? I don't even live in a hot area and I keep my car garaged. This item is junk now. It's a slippery bean bag that slides all over my dash. Thankfully I did not have my GPS attached, because I noticed it slid all over, just trying to put it on the dash. Great concept, horrid execution. Keep in mind, if you are buying.
Sticks like its glued to the dashboard
I bought this beanbag mount for my new Magellan Roadmate 5045 and immediately left on a 4200 mile roadtrip to Colorado. It never moved on the dashboard of my '99 Toyota Sienna as we climbed, descended, and swerved down the mountain roads. Some reviewers complain about having trouble getting the GPS windshield mount suction cups to stick to the plate on the beanbag mount. They should try dropping some water in the middle of the plate before pressing the suction cup onto the plate. The water improves the seal on the suction cup so it holds like it is glued down. The water will evaporate eventually so it is important to pop the suction cup off every once in a while so you can restick it with some more water.
A necessity for conveinence and theft protection
Great product, works as advertised. It stays on the dash and provides a stable platform for my Tomtom.
GPS Dash Mount
I have to give this Gilsson GPS Dash Mount a five star. It's by far the best mount I have ever prchased and used. It stays in place all the time in my two passenger cars and my motor home.
Couldn't be more pleased
Smaller and better looking that it appears in photos. Sticks great to my dash, really stays put. Its design allows a unit like my TomTomXXL540tm to adjust properly, where it wouldn't on a pad with higher sides since the TT is almost touching the floor of the mat when adjusted properly.
I'll bet a lot of TomTom users end up with this product after finding that others won't work for them.

Gilsson UBM Portable Car Skid Friction is not true that Montes Beans office does not seem to slide around, but it is complicated and in a small car can cover your vents. I do not understand how the GPS is supposed to sit? Is it supposed to mount the GPS on the bracket with suction cup, then to the plate? I think this may be the next “Pet Rock, which does not really need. A better description of how to use and displays an image with a GPS device that would be useful in deciding whether to buy. TomTom is the cup to maintain the unity and falls on the council. . . The only difference is that the tom-tom used to fall on the windshield and now it falls from the mounting plate. Skip this product and build your own board assembly! Rating: 1 / 5
