I love it! We used it on vacation and never got lost. the touch screen along with the features was easy to use.
I was very unimpressed with this gps
I had this gps for only a few months, used only a few times and it already broke. the screen freezes on me and takes a few days till it will go back to working use. this is not what i expected when i was looking into garmin gps because i heard they're supposed to be top of the line. oh well.

Great little gps
This 255 Nuvi replaced my 260 Nuvi mainly to get the new updated map and POI's. It is a nice little gps that can be slipped into my shirt pocket when I leave the vehicle and used when sight seeing walking, especially to find your way back to vehicle. Hint: I glued a small grey patch of Velcro (loop-the soft side) onto the vehicle dash which matches dash color and the matching Velcro patch (hook) onto the back of the gps. This makes for easy mounting and removal and keeps prying eyes from noticing you may have a gps in vehicle.

I bought this GPS for over six months and has never worked properly. It may be because I accidentally “skipped” searching for satellites during the initial setup. I was inside so I thought I can not find the satellites, so I hit jump (thinking I might do that later). They do not say is that you can never option again and that satellites will not work correctly if you hit jump. My satellite in and out every day and go wrong especially on cloudy days or when the car is moving (which is mostly right?). I may have a faulty unit as well. I called technical support said that you download the latest updates to software (but there is none). Then he called me recently suggested RMA for a repair (after holding for more than 15 minutes). It made me late for a tennis match, a marriage and many other events, and that works well for a while, then inexplicably released satellites and can never recover. Everything remains in a loop of “Acquiring Satellites” as long as you’re running late and traffic is obviously very frustrating not knowing where to go. I finally just stopped using it for a while, then worked fine if I reset the device almost every day. Then finally discovered the factory reset (when you lose all data recorded) and that seemed to work. In short, this device has caused me much frustration. Firstly, it was my first GPS (not mobile phones), so I’m totally impartial to be used for a planning system diferente.En a great trip, I decided that a GPS would be an investment wise. Have never used a GPS, I thought the water tested. . . . try a low-end model of a brand and a premium brand to another in order to answer two questions: What operating system and that I prefer. . . All these features are worth the extra money? So I went with the Magellan 4700 (he had lots of lightning and a great price) and the nüvi 755 Magellan.interfaz What is the best? Magallanes. Handily. It is much easier to enter new addresses, cities, etc. It has an address book accessible and programmable. The Garmin confuses me. . . and I am not easily confused by the electronics. What is the fastest? The Garmin launches much faster than the Magellan. . . but otherwise, are the battery par.Duración? Garmin wins this battle. But who cares if you use it in your car? Etc? Magellan has a feature where you can view a list of all the turns in its trajectory. I like this feature and can not find on the Garmin. Find detours on the Garmin is difficult (although this could be because not all traffic). Knowing the output side is much easier on the Magellan. Garmin tells you the distance to all types of gas, hotels and restaurants. But Magellan tells you the distance to each exit and pressing a button, you can find what is in this production. Waaaay easier than Garmin. The Garmin manual is much better and more detailed. Are the features worth it? Absolutely !!!!! Speech recognition in 4700 is only a little difficult because the manual is not helpful. . . but once done, it worked perfectly (even in my old CRV, noisy … with the radio in a weak voice). Traffic provides an early warning of accidents and very fast too. I have been informed of an accident in I295 least 10 minutes after the event (emergency vehicles arrived just after the accident). Connections can quickly and easily. The AAA tour book is also nice. . . . but I would not go out of my way to buy this característica.En general, the only major category wins than Garmin’s time to start. The Garmin sucks when he entered the city. You always show the way by highway or road. But pick up the signal very well. I assumed it was a USB cable and ordered a car with my 12V adapter 255, as Amazon said it was “for further ordered. “Wrong! 12V car adapter is included, but no USB cable. If you look on the Amazon site that describes the nuvi 255, a USB connection is mentioned several times. Programming the 255 with his team is one of the main features. You would think Garmin USB cable is included, or at least Amazon indicate precisely what is in the box. The poor quality – Garmin.
