Tomtom – XL IQ Very good GPS
September 16, 2009
Most:
- Somewhat sensible (even in large metropolitan)
- Starting rather early even after loss of GPS signal
- Good ergonomics thanks to its wide-screen
- Robust
- System setting to share break-witted
- Speaker Nickel: clear path is understandable
- Software compatible Macintosh (Mac OS X)
- Customizable GPS (for those who like to customize their GPS: image host etc …)
- Ability to recharge the GPS by connecting (via USB) to a computer before departure.
- Autonomy without connection to the cigarette lighter very correct (over an hour) (thus we can use it on foot, in town for example).
- Quality / price excellent
- Recalculates route quickly (few seconds)
- Guaranteeing update map at the first use of GPS (and we have the opportunity to have the last card available to load into the device regardless of the time of purchase)
The -:
- No SD Card, so has limited 2GB memory (no problem if we do not add too many “gadgets”)
- Transfer from one computer to GPS slow (very very very slow: several hours to load a map … Europe!)
- Database radar TomTom pay (but can find free on the internet)
- No cover supplied with the unit
- No adjustment of brightness of the screen (but not very penalizing)
——————-
After several months of use, I think this GPS completed its function, I was reluctant to use this type of device, I am not disappointed.
He took me out of business more than once.
Thus the displacements are stress free …
The software that comes with the GPS is OK but could be improved. (Though to back up his GPS before manipulation, otherwise all is lost …)
I have about this contact the VAS TomTom (problem updating map), the response was rapid but incomplete. Fortunately the internet there are special forums on which TomTom have found solutions.
